2017 Quilt Show Categories

  • Our 2017 show will have thirteen judged categories and one exhibit-only category.
  • Entries are welcome from members of the sponsoring guilds as well as the general public.

Youth

 

A new category for 2017. Any quilt made by a person 18 and under.  May be any size. One prize will be awarded for this category.


Modern Design

 

A new category for 2017.  Quilts should embody the principles of modern design such as the use of bold color and prints, high contrast, graphic areas of solid color, improvisational piecing, expansive negative space, and alternate grid work. Single maker, duo, or group quilts accepted. Size: no side smaller than 36 inches.


Large Pieced

 

Single maker and perimeter measures at least 280 inches.


Small Pieced

 

Single maker and perimeter measures between 96 inches and 280 inches.

 

Two Person Large

 

Any quilt made and quilted by two different people. Perimeter must be at least 280 inches.


Two Person Small

 

Any quilt made and quilted by two different people. Perimeter measures between 96 inches and 280 inches.

 

Appliqué

 

Single maker.  May be any size.

 

Appliqué Duo

 

Appliquéd quilt made by two people. May be any size.


Miniature

 

Perimeter measures 96 inches or less.


Mixed Techniques

 

Single maker. May be traditional or contemporary design that includes a combination of techniques (e.g. piecing, embroidery, appliqué, trapunto, painting/stenciling, etc.) May be any size.


Innovative Design

 

Single maker. Must be entrant’s own creative design reflecting innovative construction, techniques, theme, and/or materials. May be traditional or contemporary. May be any size.


Group

 

Quilt made by more than 2 people. May be any size.


Challenge

 

“Jazz” theme, see Challenge Guidelines. Open to sponsoring guild members only.


Exhibit Only

 

Any non-judged (display only) quilt.
