Appliqué Elements:  Fun Flowers  (All skill levels)  Sue Nickels

You will explore raw edge machine appliqué while making an easy fun flower quilt project.  Using designs from the new “Appliqué Elements” patterns develop by Sue and her sister, Pat Holly, make a fun and unique project while learning award winning machine appliqué skills.  Take floral elements to create your own unique designs.  This is an easy approach to create your own original quilt, without having to draw anything yourself.  Students will work on one block in class, but will receive ideas for many more blocks.

Free-Motion Quilting a la Vikki (All skill levels)

Completing a quilt top is only the beginning.  Inspired stitching is essential to finish a quilt.  In this class, Vikki teaches her techniques for free-motion quilting using two or more strands of thread through a single needle.  Students learn how to stitch many of Vikki’s unusual design motifs and play with making up some of their own personal designs.  Student will play at using the machine needle for sketching a simple freehand picture or scene.
